Two New Flyover Projects to Open Soon In Phnom Penh

On August 22, 2022, Phnom Penh Capital Hall plans to start the construction of two more flyovers by the end of this month in a bid to reduce traffic congestion in the capital. According to the Facebook page of Mr. Long Nget, Deputy Governor of Meanchey District.

Please be informed that the first flyover is planned to be built at the triple intersection of Samdech Techo Hun Sen Blvd and Royal Cambodian Armed Forces Blvd in Meanchey and Chamkarmon districts. The second flyover is planned to be built at the intersection of Russian Federation Blvd and Samdech Chaufea Veang Kong Sam Ol Blvd, commonly known as Street 2004

On August 19, 2022, HE Nuon Pharath, Deputy Governor of Phnom Penh, toured the site in preparation for the flyover groundbreaking ceremony, and announced on his Facebook page that the ceremony will take place soon.

The construction of the new flyover is due to daily traffic congestion in both areas and to facilitate traffic for the people. This is not the first flyover. Currently, in Phnom Penh, there are 6 flyovers that have been completed and are in use, including the Kbal Thnal flyover, 7 Makara flyover, Stung Meanchey flyover, 5 Makara flyover, Cambodia Friendship flyover Chen Sen Sok, also known as Phsar Dei Huy flyover, flyover and Chom Chao subway.
