Third Ring Road 76 Percent Completed as of July

As of July 25, 2022, the construction of the third ring road has been completed 76.87%, which is scheduled to be finished by the beginning of September 2023, according to the Facebook page of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport on August 2nd, 2022.

The new achievements of the third ring road with a total length of about 53 kilometers reached 76.87 percent, road construction reached 72.46 percent, flyover work reached 69.90 percent, and bridge work reached 95.98 percent. According to the Project Implementation Unit's project status report (PIU).

 

 

This ring road starts from National Road no. 4 at km number 14 + 105 in Chompou Voan village, Sangkat Choam Chao 3, connects to Tomnob Kobsrov Road, national road no. 5, win-win Bridge, Win-win Boulevard and national road No. 6, and will become a new large and modern ring road to serve the transportation sector between Phnom Penh, connecting to National Road No. 6, No. 5, No. 4, No. 3, No. 2 and National Road No. 21 by crossing the Bassac River and Koh Anlong Chen ends at National Road No. 1 at km 24 + 840 in Sdao Kanleang village, Dei Edth commune, Kien Svay district, Kandal province (main road).

 

More specifically, this line connects to the new container port of Phnom Penh Autonomous Port in the Kien Svay district. It also connects the ASEAN Highway (AH1 and AH11) and the main corridor of the Greater Mekong Subregion.

 

The third ring road is a major, modern road that will help to reduce the traffic jams and accidents, making it easier to get around the capital.

 

 

It should be reminded that this project was started in January 2019, the third ring road has a total length of 105.9 km, which will cost about 273 million US dollars, a loan from China. This road is under construction by Shanghai Construction Group Co., Ltd, with technical supervision provided by Guangzhou Wanan Construction Supervision Co., Ltd.
